Thomas R. Hutchison, 77, of Elyria passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin. He was born May 26, 1944 in Elyria, and was a 1963 graduate of Oberlin High School. He worked 4 years through High School at Oberlin Hardware Store. Thomas proudly served his Country in the United States Navy during Vietnam for 4 years as MM3 on the Guided Missle Destroyer Sellers DDG-11. He worked for over 33 years at the Hutchison Plumbing and Heating Co., which was started by his father Tom in 1960. Thomas took over the business in 1985, and the finished his career as a plumber for 12 years at Wesleyan Village. He was a 44 year member of American legion post # 12 of Elyria. Tom enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and NASCAR racing.. Survivors include his daughters, Kimberly S. McLain, Michelle R. Nedwick and Kristina M. (Mark) Quinlan; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Donna Hutchison and Bonnie Frederick. He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years Karen Sue (nee Gilliam); parents, Clinton and Lois Hutchison (nee Squires). Family will receive friends from 10 AM until time of service at 12 Noon Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
