Thomas J. Hoyt, 70, of Elyria passed away Wednesday May 2, 2018 at University Hospitals Main Campus in Cleveland following a long illness. He was born June 14, 1947 in Waynesburg, PA. and was a longtime Elyria resident. Tom worked in sales at Radioshack in North Olmsted and was a United State Army veteran. Survivors include his wife of 5 years, Anne (nee-Shaffer); daughters, Jennifer (Angelo) Alvarez, Megan (Mike) Guy, and Claire (Michael) de la Flor; son, Thomas Hoyt; 5 grandchildren; brother, John Hoyt. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wendy and a sister. The family will receive friends Tuesday 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be Wednesday May 9, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
