Theresa E. Oswald, (nee-Paracsy), 88, of Elyria passed away Sunday July 15, 2018 at the Elyria Wesleyan Village following a brief illness. She was born January 10, 1930 in Lorain and was an Elyria resident for most of her life. Theresa was a member of the Community of Faith United Church of Christ and the C.O.F Women's Guild as well as the North Ridgeville Senior Center where she was involved with the quilting program. She also crocheted many scarves and headbands for many Elyria school children and enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughters, Kaye Oswald and Juliana (Charles) Anthony; sons, Ken (Kelly) Oswald Jr. and Scott Oswald; grandchildren, Blair Murphy and Matthew Anthony; great-grandchildren, London and Riley Murphy; brother, James Paracsy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Oswald and a sister, Margaret Godlewski. The family will receive friends Wednesday July 18, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. The Rev. Kathy Ketchum, pastor of Community of Faith United Church of Christ will Officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
