Theodore J. "Ted" Machovina Sr. 59, of Elyria passed away surrounded by his family at home on Thursday February 22, 2024 following a long illness.  He was born April 9, 1964 in Elyria where he was a lifelong resident.  Ted was a talented carpenter, and treasured spending time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and travel.  Survivors include his children; James F., TJ. (Erica), Kadie J. all of Elyria. Additional survivors include four grandchildren; Ryley, Autumn, Theo, River, his mother; Mary Ellen Machovina (nee: Schmitz) of Grafton, two sisters; Judy L. Wakefield (Mark) of Grafton, Sharon M. Smith Patrick) of Mogadore, and a brother; Daniel F. of Elyria. Ted was preceded in death by his father; Gerald A. Machovina, his paternal grandparents; Francis and Angeline Machovina, Louis and Mary Schmitz. Ted requested that all funeral services be private.
