Theodore "Ted" Allan Shook 85, of Elyria passed away Thursday February 10, 2022 at LifeCare Center of Elyria following a long illness. He was born April 17, 1936 in Elyria. Ted was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of The Teamsters Union, and retired from Roadway Trucking in 1998. Ted was a member of Northeast Ohio Chapter of The American Truck Historical Society; and was a member of St. Jude Church. He treasured spending time with his family and taking his 1958 Chevy Apache pickup truck to car shows. Ted was also a HAM radio operator who's call sign was W8TAS. Survivors include his daughters; Dianne Shook, Sharon Thome (Kennan), sons; William Shook, and Joseph Shook (Kelly), his grandchildren; Allan Foster, Brandon Thome, Brianna Lane (Zack), Isabella Rose Shook, and three great grandchildren, a sister in law; Sandra Berthold, and nephews; David, Don, Doug, Dan, Dale, and Daryl, nieces; Judy, Jean, Janet, Jane, Jenny and their families. Ted was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty four years; Rosemary (nee: Berthold), his parents; Ralph and Mary (nee: Zalka) Shook. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday February 14, 2022 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57 ) Elyria (440)322-4626 where closing prayers will be at 9:30 AM Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Tuesday February 15, 2022 at St. Jude Church 590 Polar St. Elyria. The Reverend Father Joseph Scalco CSJ, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria where V.F.W. Post # 1079 will provide full military honors.
