Theodore P. "Ted" Majoras, 83, of Elyria Township passed away Thursday April13, 2017 at O'Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville following a brief illness. He was born June 15, 1933 in Lorain and was an Elyria Township resident for most of his life. Ted was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 26 years, retiring in 1988. He was a United States Air Force veteran, an Elyria Township firefighter for 26 years and served as a Elyria Township Trustee for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and reading and was an avid Cincinnati Bengals football fan. Survivors include his daughter, Kathleen Majoras; sons, Douglas (Pam) Majoras and Michael (Anna) Majoras; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Ed "Ron" Majoras. He was preceded in death by his sons, Tim and Tom Majoras, sister, Mary Jean Kachure and a brother, John Majoras. The family will receive friends Tuesday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Specialists 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday April 19, 2017 in the funeral home. The Rev. Fr. Robert Glepko, pastor of Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church will Officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria, where members of V.F.W. Post 1079 will conduct full military honors.
