Thelma M. Jalowiec, (nee-Finegan), 94, of North Ridgeville passed away Wednesday March 23, 2016 at Rae Ann Nursing Home in Westlake following a brief illness. She was born November 13, 1921 in Elyria and was a lifelong North Ridgeville resident. Thelma was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in North Ridgeville, the Isabella Guild, and the Merry Wives of Forty Club, and was as precinct worker for the Lorain County Board of Elections for many years. She enjoyed bowling, traveling and playing golf, having shot a hole-in-one at Brentwood Golf Course. Survivors include her daughters, Patricia (Gerald) Wearsch of Avon and Jeannette (Gary) Brooks of Elyria; sons, Jack (Marilyn) Jalowiec of Oberlin , Rick Jalowiec of Sheffield Lake and Dennis (Carla) Jalowiec of North Ridgeville; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry in 2009, sister, Ruth Simkovich, and brothers, Dr. Theodore and Louis Finegan. The family will receive friends Monday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 29, 2016 at St. Peter Church 35777 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). The Rev. Fr. Bob Sanson will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Peter Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Peter Church.
