Terry J. Murray 79, of Elyria passed away Saturday August 24, 2024 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center following a long illness.  He was born September 27, 1944 in Minneapolis, MN. Terry proudly served with the U.S. Navy and was stationed on the U.S.S. Wasp. He had worked as a math teacher and was the owner of Harbourtown Builders specializing in building new homes and additions. Terry enjoyed lapidary making jewelry.  Survivors include his girlfriend; Jackie Miller, a daughter; Annette Carter (Brett), a son; Jeffrey (Pamela), a step son; Christopher Woehrman (Pamela). Additional survivors include several grandchildren and great grandchildren, two sisters; Judith Lowe, Joan Rubenson (Jim), and a brother; David. Terry was preceded in death by his wife; Elizabeth "Johnie" Murray, a step daughter; Cynthia Kofron, his parents; David Murray and Elise Forseth (nee: Harris), his step father; Edward Forseth, and. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Wednesday August 28, 2024 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria (440)322-4626 where funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday August 29, 2024. Pastor Bill Baker of Laporte United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be at New Russia Township Cemetery where V.F.W. Post #1079 will provide full military honors.
