Terry D. Johns, 79, of Elyria, passed away at home in the early morning hours of Monday, November 10, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Terry was born in Queenstown, Pennsylvania on December 16, 1945 to parents Willis and Claudine (nee: Lynch).  A proud U.S. Army veteran, Terry served his country with honor and carried that same sense of dedication into every aspect of his life. For many years, Terry was a valued employee at PPG Industries, where he worked in the Shipping and Receiving Department and an air traffic controller for 10 years. His strong work ethic and reliability earned the respect of his colleagues and reflected the pride he took in doing every job well. Family was always at the heart of everything Terry did—his children and grandchildren were his greatest joy and constant source of pride. Whether attending their games, sharing stories, or simply spending time together, Terry found true happiness in the moments that brought his family close.  Terry loved the peace and patience of fly fishing and the challenge of a good round of golf. He was also a lifelong and loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and all Pennsylvania sports teams, cheering them on through every season with enthusiasm and heart. He was a member of the American Legion Post #12 in Elyria. Terry's memory will live on through all who knew and loved him. Terry's family would like to thank the Crossroads Hospice caregivers for the exceptional care they provided over the last 8 months.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Regina (nee: Mokosh); daughters, Krista Muro; Julie (Paul) Cecil, Jr., sons, Robert (Fran) Neugebauer and Jeffrey Neugebauer; sisters, Darlene (Gary) Landgraf, Lisa (Ernest) Ace, Patricia Johns "Michael"; brother, Dean Johns; grandchildren, Evan and Olivia Floyd; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Elaine Ryan; sister-in-law, Ann Johns.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria. A private burial will take place at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon where full military honors will be rendered. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Terry's name can be sent to the American Legion Post #12 393 Ohio Street Elyria, Ohio 44035.
