Terri J. "Birdie" McCumbers, age 62, of Elyria, passed away on March 8, 2023 at UH Elyria Medical Center. Terri was born on June 17, 1960 to parents Galry and Sandra (nee: Rainey) in Elyria. She graduated from Midview High School in 1978 and later graduated from LCCC with an Associate's degree in Marketing. Terri owned and operated Birdie's on Cleveland Street for over 40 years. In her younger years, she was an avid skier. Later in life, she enjoyed music concerts, casinos, and shopping. Those who knew Terri describe her as outgoing, fun loving, caring, and compassionate. She will be missed by all who knew her, in particular her employees and friends, Mikey and Luke. Survivors include her parents; sister, Lisa (Jim) Poerner; niece, Savana (Brian) Kennedy; great-nephew, Hudson Kennedy; former husband and friend, Gary McQuistion, and her beloved cat, Prince. She is preceded in death by her niece, Lexi Poerner. Services will be private. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Valley City.
