Takiko Biskup, (nee-Yoshihira), 73, of Oberlin passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday September 8, 2011 following a 7 year illness of ovarian cancer. She was born October 30, 1937 in Irabu Island, Okinawa, Japan and was a Oberlin resident since 1959. Takiko was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria and enjoyed gardening, hiking, exercising, and traveling in her motor home. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Thomas, daughters, Susan (Andrew) Lehman of Littleton, CO., and Elizabeth (Chris) Clay of Travis AFB, CA.; sons, Thomas (Anna) Bishop of Elyria and John (Petrina) Harrington Park, NJ.; grandchildren, Michael, Taylor, and Haley; 1 sister; 1 brother. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 2 brothers. The family will receive friends on Monday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. 322-4626. Closing prayers will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Thomas Hagadorn will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at Ridgehill Memorial, Park, Amherst Twp. Memorial contributions made be made to St. Mary Church. Service: 10:00 AM Tuesday September 13, 2011 St. Mary Catholic Church 320 Middle Ave. Elyria, OH.
