Susan Marie Lewis (nee Craig) 76, of LaGrange, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake. She was born in Elyria on October 25, 1949 to parents Bartlett and Elsie Craig. Susan worked at Elyria Memorial Hospital as an administrative assistant until her retirement in 2015. She will be remembered as a woman of faith, who enjoyed traveling and playing pickleball. She enjoyed bird watching and spending time with family, especially beating them at Scrabble! She was a dedicated member of the altar guild at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. At home, she found peace and purpose tending to her flowers and sipping coffee on the deck. Above all, she will be remembered for her sense of humor, generosity, and empathy.

Survivors include her daughter Lisa (Travis) Riebel; stepchildren, Jeanette (Ken) Zieglar, Joanne (Todd) Whitesel, Stephen (Debbie) Lewis and Alan Lewis; sister, Kathie (Scott Mizen) Craig; brother, Richard (Jan Daniels) Craig; nieces, Rachel Cunningham, Katie (Jim Mannion) Mizen; granddaughter Kirstin Bell; grandsons Zachary Wood and Aidan Hartman; many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, husband (Ronald Lewis) in 2020 and sister (Anita Banach) in 2012.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 4-7 p.m. at Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria. Funeral service will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Church 360 Princeton Ave in Elyria on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Tim Scholl will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at the Brookdale Cemetery Chapel in Elyria. Memorial contributions in Susan’s name can be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake.
