Obituary

Sundee June Sugg, 62, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly at her home on July 5, 2025. Born on May 6, 1963, in California to the late Harvey Gene Sugg and Bonnie Rae (née Redman), Sundee lived a life that was as vibrant, complex, and beautiful as the music she so loved to play.

A gifted and passionate musician, Sundee's soul sang through the notes of her flute. Whether in quiet solitude or among friends, her music carried with it a unique blend of grace and spirit. Her love for music didn't stop there—she had a deep appreciation for heavy metal and the power it conveyed, reflecting her fierce individuality and artistic soul.

Sundee's creativity extended far beyond music. She was a fluent and expressive writer, capturing thoughts and emotions with a poetic touch. Her words, like her presence, were thoughtful, honest, and unforgettable. She was also a devoted softball player in her younger years, finding joy and connection on the field.

A true animal lover, Sundee cared deeply for all creatures great and small. Her heart knew no bounds when it came to kindness and compassion, and those who knew her will remember her for her gentle spirit and deep devotion to her friends and loved ones.

Sundee leaves behind her beloved son, Seth Rubin; her cherished sister, Christina Morey; and her adored grandson, Jaxon Rae Morey. Their lives, and the lives of many others, were immeasurably enriched by Sundee's warmth, creativity, and unwavering love.

Though her passing came far too soon, Sundee's legacy lives on in every song played, every word written, and every heart she touched with her generosity and grace. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date. In honor of Sundee, the family asks that you share a story, play a song, or show kindness to an animal—just as she would have done.

Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.laubenthalmercado.com. Arrangements entrusted to Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home in Elyria.
