Stanley Charles Pijor "Stan", longtime resident of Grafton passed away peacefully on Monday November 17, 2025 after battling a long illness.
Stan was born in Elyria to Henry and Conrada Pijor on April 12, 1951. He attended Midview High School and after graduation, Class of 1969, he was drafted into the Army and served his country with honor during the Viet Nam War. Stan worked as a public servant for many municipalities, especially his hometown of Grafton. He served as Village Administrator, Water Superintendent and Wastewater Superintendent during his career. He was a Volunteer Firefighter and EMT for the Grafton Village Fire Department.
After he retired, Stan worked part time as an equipment technician, continuing his water and wastewater profession. Retirement allowed Stan to spend time with family, attending his grandchildren's many sporting events and school functions. He was a active member of the Grafton VFW, serving as a member of the Soldiers of History. He enjoyed following the Cleveland Indians, going on group fishing trips, and listening to classic rock. Stan is described by his family and friends as a friendly, caring, calm man who was always there to help others.
Survivors include his children, Jeremy (Tanya) Pijor, Ben (Robin) Pijor, Andy Pijor, and Kate (Darrell) Morrison; grandchildren, Haley, Noah, Evan, Lucy and Luke; siblings, Tess Zeise, Andy Pijor, Tom Pijor, and Margie Malloy.
He was preceded in death by his wife Christine and his parents Henry and Conrada.
There will be a Memorial Mass on Monday November 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 708 Erie Street Grafton.
The Rev. Fr. John P. Seabold will be the Celebrant.
Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Grafton.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elyria.
