Shirley L Stanton (nee Hines), age 80, of Elyria, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born in Arthurdale, West Virginia. Shirley graduated from Arthurdale High School and moved to Ohio with her husband in 1959 where they started their family. Shirley became a resident of Elyria in 1961 where she enjoyed working at the election polls, Sweet Cream Donuts and being a wonderful homemaker. She also enjoyed camping and bowling. Shirley loved dancing in her younger years and perfected the Jitter Bug and the Polka. Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years; Bud (Ernie),daughter; Freda Thompson(Matt) of Elyria; daughter; Anita Stanton of Zephyrhills, FL; son in law Scott Hale of Olmsted Falls; grandchildren Angela, Jeremy, Nathan (Danielle), LeeAnn; and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Lucile Hines; daughter; Emma Hale; and grandson; Kyle Parker. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Thursday May 23, 2019 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
