Shirley (Weigl) Nain, 69, of Sheffield Lake, Ohio passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 after a brief illness. She was born January 5, 1949 in Elyria, Ohio to William and Helen Weigl. Shirley graduated from Elyria High School in 1967 and completed her college education at Cleveland State. Shirley lived in Kolkata, India for more than 17 years, There she founded the Harvard House school based on the teaching of Maria Montessori. Upon returning to the U.S. Shirley taught at Westlake Montessori and the Cleveland Public Schools as well as the Elyria Public Library. She found her passion on the water and spent many summers sailing Lake Erie. Shirley was an avid, creative cook sharing her recipes with friends and family alike. In recent years Shirley volunteered many hours to the Second Harvest Food Bank often recruiting visiting friends and relatives to volunteer with her. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sons Anil Nain, Dev Nain, and Kabir (Katrina) Nain, brothers Robert Weigl of Elyria, Richard (Rose) Weigl of Vermilion and sister Sheila Leach (Robert) of Palm City, FL. and many cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Shirley's name to the Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, 5510 Baumhart Rd., Lorain, Oh. 44053.
