Shirley E. Dunn, (nee-Hoover), 86, of Elyria passed away Friday July 15, 2022 at her home following a long illness. She was born April 2, 1936 in Pricetown, OH. And was an Elyria resident for much of her life. Shirley was an avid bridge player, enjoyed gardening and was an active supporter of the Friendship Animal Protective League. Survivors include her daughters, Cindy Dunn (Diane Grogan) and Denise (Anthony) Williams; son, Michael Dunn; grandchildren, Megan (Cary) Powell, Marisa (Nolan) Helmly and Alexander Willliams; brother, Kenneth Hoover; sister-in-law, Judy Dunn. She was preceded in death by her husband John Dunn in 2015. The family will receive friends on Monday July 25, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Friendship Animal Protective League 8303 North Murray Ridge Rd. Elyria, OH. 44035.
