Sherman H. "Shermy" Fisher, 88, of LaGrange passed away Wednesday September 23, 2015 at his home following a long illness. He was born July 20, 1927 in Spring City, TN. And was a LaGrange resident for most of his life. Shermy was employed as a truck driver at the former General Industries Company in Elyria for 30 years, retiring in 1989 and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was a member of the LaGrange Church of God, served in the United States Army during W.W. II and enjoyed golfing and traveling. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Alma (nee-Parks); daughter, Georgianna (Rick) Kehl of LaGrange; sons, David (Nancy) Fisher of Wellington and Jerry (Karen) Fisher of Amherst; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 1 brother. The family will receive friends Wednesday September 30, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. at the LaGrange Church of God 502 North Center St., LaGrange. Pastor Danny Wright will Officiate. Burial will be private. In liue of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS. 66675-8518. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria.
