Sheila M. Smith (nee: Slater) 67, of Elyria passed away from complications of A.L.S. on Sunday August 10, 2014 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake. She was born February 24, 1947 in Sanderson WV. Sheila lived life to its fullest; she cherished spending time with her family, and enjoyed crocheting, craftwork , and country music. Survivors include her husband of forty five years; Russell D., a son; Dana A. Smith (Tina) of Amherst. Additional survivors include four grandchildren; Joseph, James, Hannah, Jeremy, a sister; Elaine B. Elliott (Larry) of Peoria, AZ, three brothers; John F. Slater of Phoenix, AZ, Ronald R. Slater (Donna) of Virginia Beach, VA, James L. Slater of Phoenix, AZ. Sheila was preceded in death by a daughter; Sheri Lynn Smith, and her parents; Earnest and Beatrice (nee: Scheidel) Slater.
