Sheila A. Crum, (nee-Jack), 82, of Sheffield Village passed away Wednesday July 20, 2022 at the Cleveland Clinic Avon Campus following a brief illness. She was born July 25, 1939 in Westfield, MA., moving to Elyria in 1972. Sheila worked as a Dental Hygienist for 20 years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria, the American Dental Hygienist Association and a graduate of the Eastman Dental School in Rochester, NY. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Gerald; daughters, Cathy (Don) Rothgery and Susan Davidson, (Hal-deceased); son David (Cathy) Crum; and grandchildren, Katie, Tom, Lauren, Mariel and Maggie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Julia Jack and a brother, James Jack. The family will receive friends on Thursday July 28, 2022 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday July 29, 2022 at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave. Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to either the Blessing House or to the Genesis House.
