Shannon W. Smith 52, of Nova, Oh (formerly of Elyria) passed away Sunday October 23, 2016 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky following a long illness. He was born March 11, 1964 in Elyria. Shannon was a 1982 Elyria High School graduate. Shannon was an avid Cleveland sports fan, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife; Barbara J. (nee: VanMeter), a daughter; Allyson of Nova, four sons; Nicholas (Shannon) of Mansfield, Andrew (Ashley) of Nova, Dustin VanMeter of North Olmsted, Jacob of Nova. Additional survivors include two grandchildren; Gracie and Hannah, his father; Roy Smith of Sullivan, mother; Cheryl Johnson of TN, a sister; Michelle Lax of CO, three brothers; David of Sullivan, Richard (Wendi) of FL, Ross Kinter (Amy) of Grafton. NO VISITATION. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday November 1, 2016 in the Chapel at Brookdale Cemetery 41600 Oberlin Rd. Elyria, OH 44035.
