Saundra L. Lambert (nee Slauter), 83, of Grafton, passed away October 2, 2022 after a short illness. She was born November 30, 1938, in Elyria and was a 1957 graduate of Elyria High School. Saundra had been employed as a bank teller for much of her career at several local banks including First National Bank of Elyria, Lorain County Bank and Northern Savings and Loan.
Saundra enjoyed sewing, was a prolific quilter, and shared her handmade gifts with everyone in her life. She exhibited her quilts at county fairs and was a member of the Lorain County Piecemakers Quilt Guild. Saundra was outgoing and liked conversing with everyone she met. She loved watching the Cleveland Indians and college football. She also enjoyed growing flowers and houseplants.
Saundra is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald W. Lambert; a son, Jon A. Lambert of Grafton; a daughter, Juliann (James) Johnson of Cologne, MN; and a brother, Charles Slauter of Lorain. Additional survivors include grandchildren, Briahnon (Andrew) Plank, Alexander Lambert, Madeline Johnson, Natalie (Shandon) Sutherland, Claire Johnson, Valerie Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Sloane and Charles. Saundra was preceded in death by her parents, Alberten and Ellen Slauter (nee Yearley).
Friends and family will be received Tuesday, Oct 18, 2022, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd, Elyria, 440-322-4626. A service will be held at 1:00 PM where Reverend Chuck Behrens will officiate. A private burial will be held later at Laporte Cemetery.
