Santina J. Skidmore (nee Curcillo) 90, of Elyria, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, January 4, 2026. She was born in Lorain on November 1, 1935 to parents Joseph and Anna Curcillo. Santina will be remembered for her boundless spirit and generous heart. She devoted her life to her family as a homemaker, creating a warm and loving home that was the foundation of so many cherished memories. Each summer, she proudly volunteered with the American Cancer Society, selling flowers in support of a cause close to her heart. A dedicated and loving grandmother, Santina delighted in building puzzles, playing Candy Crush, and enjoying trips to the casino. Though she stood just 4'3", she was affectionately known as a “little spitfire,” full of personality, determination, and charm. Everyone who met her couldn’t help but smile—she was as feisty as she was adorable, and she leaves behind memories as vibrant and joyful as the life she lived.

Survivors include her daughter, SueAnn (Jim) Stephenson; sister, Josephine (Glenn) Morris; grandsons, Jordan, Derrick, Tyler; great-grandson, Kash, and many nieces and nephews. Santina is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 2013, parents, sisters, Connie Adamcek, Nancy Roll, Kathy Kiger, Marie Wacker, Theresa Kroll; brother, Greg Curcillo.

Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria. Burial will immediately follow the service at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon. Reverend Chuck Behrens will officiate.
