• Ruth E. Hershberger (nee Covert), 79, of Lorain passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at Avon Oaks Nursing Home. She was born November 1, 1941 in Morristown, NJ. Ruth enjoyed bingo, crocheting , going to casinos and loved her dogs. Survivors include her daughters Nancy (Richard) Dyer of Franklin, NC. , Deborah Smith of Snook, TX.; sons, Leslie Johnson Jr. of Lorain, Earl Johnson of Oberlin, Charles Jr. (Janet) Hershberger of Oberlin, Fred (Randy) Moore of Lorain; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters Judy (Mark) Hammonds, Gwen Twitty, Faith Bjorman. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Sr.; parents, Carl and Ruth Covert (nee Gans); sister Janet Momit; brothers Michael and Carl Covert. Family will be present to receive friends 11AM until time of service at 12 NOON Friday, March 5, 2021 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
