Russell W. Thorpe, Sr., 58, of Grafton, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 2, 2023. He was born in Elyria on August 30, 1965 to parents Wendell and Charlotte (nee: Nielson) Thorpe. He graduated from Columbia High School and later went to work for Parker Hannifin as a machinist. Russell loved Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Football. He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Traci (nee: Barnes); daughters, Jessica (Michael) Hazzard, Brandi (Jason) Houston; son, Russell Jr.; brother, Ronald (Esther); sisters, Becky Workman, Brenda Thorpe, Kristy (Frank) DiRuggiero, Wendy (Dan) Johnston, Jessica Thorpe; sister-in-law, Emma Thorpe; dogs, Stanley, Stella, and Tucker; and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dottie Keenan and Penny Musall; and brother, Roger. All funeral services will be private.
