Roy Raymond Holyko 80, of Elyria passed away on Thursday August 3, 2023 at Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake following a long illness. He was born March 21, 1943 in Cleveland.  Roy served in the U.S. Army. He was a gifted working with his hands, and was a great handyman.  He was a member of St. Jude Church in Elyria, Amvets Post #32, V.F.W. Post #1079, and was a Past Post Commander for American Legion Post#12, and a member of a Championship Color Guard.  Survivors include his children; Candice, Paul, Brian, Anthony, Jason, several grandchildren, a sister; Joyce Revak and his favorite brother in law; Don Revak of Hiram, and a dear friend; Rick Gallaher (Shirley) of Elyria. Roy was preceded in death by his wife; Monica, a son; Mike, his parents; Paul and Marge (nee: Martin) Holyko, a brother; Paul. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Wednesday August 9, 2023 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria (440)322-4626 where the American Legion Post #12 will provide honor services at 6:45 PM on Wednesday.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday August 10. 2023 at St. Jude Church 590 Poplar St. Elyria.  The Reverend Father Joseph Scalco, CSJ, Pastor will be the Celebrant. (Please meet at church) Burial will be 12:15 PM Friday August 11, 2023 at The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery 10175 Rawiga Rd.
