Roxann R. Sebastian (nee: Nowak) 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, April 17, 2015. She was born February 16, 1952, and was raised in LaGrange, Ohio. Roxann was an accomplished athlete at Keystone High School where she was a 1970 graduate. She completed coursework at Lorain County Community College in early childhood development. She retired from The Ford Motor Co. and during retirement, worked for The Lorain County Metro Parks and also volunteered at The Cleveland Zoo. Roxann loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed outdoor activities, such as swimming, ice skating, cross country skiing, biking, and hiking. She also enjoyed attending church and studying scriptures. and made the world a more beautiful place through her sewing, painting, landscaping and floral arrangements. Roxann loved music and celebrated life daily through song and dance. Survivors include four daughters; Kelly L. Kidder, Kristy L. Applegate (nee: Kidder) (Wes) of Zionsville, IN, Kimberly R. VanHorn (David) of Akron, Holly M. Sebastian (Darien) of Avon Lake. Additional survivors include her mother; Thelma Brehm (nee: Haun) of Elyria, three brothers; Bill Renninger (Donna) of North Ridgeville, Don Nowak (Fran) of Elyria, Dan Nowak (Karen) of Cleveland, stepmother; Sandra Nowak of Elyria, a sister; Reney Yeo of Elyria, and five grandchildren; Maria, Landon, Jude, Samantha, Luke. Roxann was preceded in death by her father; Chester Nowak, and a brother; Bob Renninger. A Celebration of Roxann's life will be held at 4:00 PM Friday April 24, 2015 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM Friday until time of services at 4:00 PM. Pastor Rick VanHorn will offciate. There will be a private family burial.
