Rosemary Shook, (nee-Berthold), 76, of Elyria passed away Tuesday July 28, 2015 at UH Elyria Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born June 7, 1939 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Rosemary was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria where she was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society and served on the bereavement committee. She was a Ham Radio operator with her call letters being KD8SC and she enjoyed cooking and baking. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Theodore "Allan" Shook; daughters, Dianne Shook and Sharon (Kennan) Thome; sons, William Shook and Joseph (Kelly) Shook; grandchildren, Allan, Brandon, Brianna and Isabella Rose; 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by as sister, Mary Anne Berthold and brothers, William and James Berthold. The family will receive friends Thursday (today) 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Closing prayers will be Friday July 31, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Church 590 Poplar St., Elyria. The Rev. Richard Gonser will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the donor's choice.
