Obituary

Rose Marie Clark (nee Wechter) 93 of LaGrange formerly of Huron passed away Saturday June 21,2014 at Mercy Allen Hospital in Oberlin, with her daughter by her side. Rose Marie was born February 19, 1921 in Huron, Ohio to the late William E. and Rose E. (nee Landoll), who owned and operated the Huron Dairy. She was married in 1942 to James J. Clark whom she met at a dance , he preceded her in death in 1974. She made her home with her loving and devoted eldest son on the same family farm on which she lived her life since the age of 21. Over the years family , friends, and neighbors were welcomed there to many gatherings , parties and celebrations that were always a success due to Rose Marie's tireless efforts of organizing and good cooking. There are many fond memories and stories to recall by those who were entertained by dancing , pony rides , pig roasts , and swimming in the pond. Throughout her life Rose Marie belonged to many organizations and clubs including those when her 5 children were young such as the Altar and Rosary Society , a leader of "Catholic Daughters" , P.T.U. , and 4- H club , she enjoyed her "Neighborhood Club " , Pinochle Club and travel RV club. She traveled to Ireland and Hawaii , RV'D or drove to many destinations across the U.S., with many family and friends. It was the journey with her that was the most memorable and fun. Although in recent years her health had begun to limit her activities , her mind and wit were sharp and she continued to be as caring and thoughtful as always. The lives that Rose Marie touched were all better having known her. She was the proud mother of a Marine Corp Veteran. She met life's burdens with grace and shared her joys and blessings with all. Rose Marie will be greatly missed by her son James W. Clark of LaGrange , and her daughter Katherine Clark of Elyria, other survivors include her sister-in-law JoAnne Wechter , daughters-in-law Nancy Clark of LaGrange , Traci Clark of Bullhead City, Arizona , grandchildren Travis and Jodi Clark of Lebanon , Traci and Ralph Foor of Henrietta , Trista and Tom Prechtel of LaGrange , Julie and Matt of N. Carolina, Jody and Mike of California , Charlie and Lisa of N. Carolina , Richard of Nevada , Randy of Arizona , Rachelle of Arizona ,11 great-grandchildren , great-great-grandchild , many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband James J. Clark , daughter Rose Marie and sons Robert E. and William T. , her sister Marcella , and brothers Frank (Mary) , Carl (Mary Catherine) and William. Family will receive friends 4-7 PM today Monday June 23,2014 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57) Elyria 440-322-4626. Mass of Christian Burial 10AM Tuesday June 24,2014 at Sacred Heart Church 410 W. Lorain St. (Oberlin) (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Rev. Fr. Robert J. Cole will be the celebrant. Private Burial Rockwood Cemetery.
