Rose Ann Thome (nee: Barnard) 79, of Oberlin passed away Wednesday January 21, 2026 at Metro General Hospital in Cleveland. She was born February 4, 1946 in Elyria where she had resided most of her life. Rose was a 1964 Elyria Catholic High School graduate, and a 1966 graduate from Oberlin School of Commerce with an Associate degree in Business and Accounting. She had worked at PC Campana in the accounting payroll department. Rose was a member of St. Jude Church. She was a Girl Scout leader for thirty eight years; a Service Unit Director, Day Camp Director, Cookie Chairwoman for seventeen years, Registrar and Trainer for Girl Scouts. Rose was also an Elyria Catholic High School Band Booster, and had worked Bingo at Elyria Catholic High School for eleven years. Survivors include her daughters; Tanya D. Pallardy (Jason) of Elyria, Heather M. Thome of Elyria, additional survivors include two grandchildren; Isabella and Ian Pallardy both of Elyria, a sister; Charlene M. Prochazka of Oberlin, and two brothers; Richard A. Barnard of Elyria and Harold E. Barnard of Ashtabula, several nieces and nephews, and a dear friend since 1st grade; Donna Hennings of Elyria. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; Cecil and Catherine (nee: Wohlever) Barnard. The family will receive friends 1-4 PM Sunday January 25, 2026 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria (440)322-4626. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Monday January 26, 2026 at St. Jude Church 590 Poplar St. Elyria, OH 44035. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). The Reverend Father Jose Fifin C.S.J., Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at Pittsfield East Cemetery in Pittsfield.
