Ronald A. Van Amburgh, 79, of Grafton passed away Thursday November 30, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family following a short battle with cancer. He was born in Elyria on February 8, 1938, the son of Cleo and Clarence Van Amburgh and resided in Grafton for his adult life. For a short period, the family lived in California before moving back to Elyria where he attended Elyria High School. He is survived by Joyce M. Van Amburgh (nee-Kinzel) whom he married on May 21, 1960. They have three children, Michael (Elisa) , Barbara (Joe) Farrar and Daniel (Nicki), and grandchildren, Michael and Sadie Farrar, Emma, Anna, Mason and Austin Van Amburgh and a sister, Patricia Puls. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Charles. For 34 years he worked at the Ford Motor Company in Lorain on the assembly line and as a repairman before retiring in 1994. During retirement he worked for the Bailey Corporation for a few years. He was the ultimate fisherman and fished under any conditions, any time of the year and could catch walleye and perch when no one else could. In addition, he enjoyed deer and turkey hunting with his friends and late brother Charles. And there was nothing he couldn't design, build or fix. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and especially his grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Specialists 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday December 5, 2017 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church 708 Erie St., Grafton (please meet at church). The Rev. Fr. John P.
