Ronald Lee Steigner, 80, of Elyria passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at University Hospital Elyria Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Ron was born July 21, 1938 in Minerva, Ohio to Wilma (Wilson) and James Steigner Sr. Ron moved to Elyria in 1951 and lived there for the rest of his life. He was in the Army Reserves and worked for the City of Elyria and Ford Motor Company. Ron also worked alongside his brother, James Steigner, at E.H. Roberts Company for 40 years. In 1991, Ron became vice president of the company. Ron enjoyed snowmobiling, basketball, and golf. He also enjoyed helping out his family abd friends and spending time talking with them, especially after retirement, his circle of friends at McDonald's on East Broad Street in Elyria. Ron is survived by his sons Mark of Elyria and Shawn (Natalie) of Madison; his grandchildren Lanie (Zach) Latynski, Jacob and Nathan Steigner; great granddaughter Evelyn Latynski; brother James (Darlene) Steigner Jr. of the Villages, Florida. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Steigner; his parents James and Wilma (Wilson) Steigner; brother George Breckenbridge.Ron was his own man and will be greatly missed.
