Ronald R. Nagy, 82, of Elyria passed away peacefully at his home on Friday August 11, 2023. He was born June 15, 1941 in Barberton and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Ron retired in 2004 after 38 years of service with the City of Elyria Parks and Recreation Department. He spent the best years of his life working outside, golfing, hunting and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He will be greatly missed. He left those who loved him with many fond memories. Survivors include his wife, Susan (nee-Blakeslee); daughter, Kim (Stanley) Benko; sons, Kevin (Danelle) Nagy and Ken (Linda) Nagy; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Steve and Dennis Nagy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Margaret Nagy and a brother, David Nagy. The family will receive friends on Thursday August 17, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Mr. Stanley Benko, Ron's son-in-law, will be the speaker. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
