Obituary

Ronald M. Landig, 84 years old, beloved husband, father, grandfather and talented architect of Elyria, Ohio was taken home to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 20, 2016. He was born January 14, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio. Ron graduated from Kent State University and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Ron was an avid sportsman. He had a great passion for fishing, hunting, boating, golf, football, hockey, basketball, and baseball. As a successful business owner of RWL Architects, Inc. before retiring in November of 2015, Ron designed many beautiful residential homes and commercial buildings throughout the state as well as out of state. Since his architectural legacy is so lengthy, the following is just a short list of some of his accomplishments in Lorain County: St. Jude's Church, Lorain County Administration Building, The Lake Erie Crushers Stadium, Avon Police and Fire Stations, Avon YMCA, Midview Elementary Schools and High School Stadium. He was also owner of Plans Exam Inc. until retiring this past May. Ron was a member and faithfully participated at St. Jude's Church He will be dearly missed by his wife Nancy (née Radican); his daughters Lisa Zane, Lauri Landig, Colleen Moore and son-in-law Robert Moore, and Cathleen Landig- Long. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Cailynn Moore, Bryan Moore, Sean Moore, Erin Moore, Ian Long, Emma Long, and brother Kenneth Coleman. He was preceded in death by his parents Caroline and Peter Coleman and dearly beloved son-in-law, Thomas Long. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday January 3, 2016 at St. Jude's Church 590 Poplar St. Elyria, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM immediately following. The Reverend Father Frank P. Kosem, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Private family burial will be held at Ridge Hill Cemetery in Amherst Township at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those who wish, may make donations to St. Jude Church or to Helping Hands Food Pantry 590 Poplar Street Elyria, Ohio 44035.
