Ronald L.
Jackson
November 19, 1954 – May 13, 2026
Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home
2:00 - 4:00 pm (Eastern time)
Ronald L. Jackson Sr., 71, of North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at home on May 13, 2026.
Born November 19, 1954, in Elyria, Ron married his high school sweetheart, Jackie, and lived life to the fullest — cherishing time with loved ones and sharing his many skills. A born creative, tinkerer, and problem-solver, he passed on a deep knowledge of tools and engineering through hands-on teaching that only he could provide. His quick wit and one‑of‑a‑kind sense of humor made learning from him as much fun as it was instructive. A lifelong lover of music, Ron found great joy on stage as “Pappa J” on the keys. But his proudest and most treasured role was being “Poppy.” He delighted in spending time with family and friends, never met a stranger, and had a gift for making everyone feel welcomed and loved. Ron will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife of fifty two years whom he married March 2, 1974; Jacqueline “Jackie” (nee: Huffman), two daughters; Danielle L. Jackson of Elyria, Kristine E. Jackson (Mike Petrone) of Cleveland, a son; Ronald L. Jackson Jr. (Elizabeth) of Olmsted Falls. Additional survivors include his grandchildren; Sage, Isabela, Solana, Ronnie III, (Nikki), Elaina, Nelson, Antonio, Nolan, Nina, Anaya, great grandchildren; Christian, Rowan, Annie, a sister; Bonnie Schlosser (Dave) of Elyria, and his brothers; Ernie Jackson (Nona) of Elyria, Rick Jackson (Nancy) of North Ridgeville, Dave Jackson (Anita) of Avon Lake. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; Ernest and Patricia (nee: Vilevac) Jackson, and his mother in law; Faye Huffman. The family will receive friends to Celebrate Ron’s life from 2-4 PM on Sunday May 31, 2026 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria (440)322-4626. Funeral services and burial are private. The family suggests that memorial contribution in Ron’s memory be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
