Obituary

Ronald P. Irvan 63 of Wellington Went to "Sail with the Captain" on Thursday February 20,2014, after a 5 year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born December 18,1950 in Elyria. Ronald worked for York International as a manager for 32 years until his retirement after retirement he worked for Schwans and Lindens Propane and also worked for the Grafton Fire Dept. for 6 years. He was a United States Navy veteran, enlisting in 1969, received a discharge after surgery for a bad knee. Ron was a 1969 graduate of Elyria High School , was also a member of the Wellington Eagles and in 2012 he met his favorite author Randy Wayne White. He enjoyed Hunting,Fishing,Sports,Gardening, Reading and he was devoted to his family grandson and friends , he also traveled to stadiums across the Country with his son Travis.Ron was also a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.survivors include his wife of 33 years Deborah ( nee Gallagher), son Travis (Ann), sisters Carol (Bob) Sorrell, Lisa Meng , Elaine (Troy) Perkins , brothers Robert (Carol) Indian , Dave (Betty) Irvan , grandson Ezekiel and mother Lillian (nee Bailor). Family will receive friends 12Noon-3PM Saturday March 1, 2014 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626 where full military honors will be provided by VFW post # 1079 at 2:30PM.
