Ronald J. Gilgenbach, 78, of Grafton passed away Friday August 16, 2013 at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange following a long illness. He was born October 9, 1934 in Fairview Park and was a lifelong Elyria area resident. Ron was the owner of the R.J. Gilgenbach Company Excavating for more than 50 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton and the Elyria Catholic Dad's Booster Club. He was a past president of the Elyria Catholic High School Alumni Association and was inducted into the Elyria Catholic High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame in 2010. Survivors include his daughter, Lynne (Dwight) McMurray of Elyria; sons, Jeffrey (Dorothy) Gilgenbach of Dothan, AL., and Michael (Theresa) Gilgenbach of Elyria; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, David Gilgenbach of Broadview Heights. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (nee-Horwedel) in 2011. The family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Closing prayers will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 708 Erie St. Grafton. The Rev. Fr. John P.
