Romey E. Hardway, 82, of Elyria passed away Thursday May 24, 2018 at Mercy New Life Hospice following a brief illness. He was born December 19, 1935 in Braxton, County, WV. And was an Elyria resident for most of his life. Romey worked at the Ford Motor Company in Brookpark for 35 years, retiring in 1993 as a welder. He enjoyed blue grass music and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Loverenne (nee-Fitzwater); son, Richard (Sherry) Hardway; granddaughter, Heather (Dan) Lang; great-grandson, Blake Lang and 2 sisters. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers. The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life Gathering from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday June 10, 2018 at the Grafton Township Hall 17109 State Rt. 83, Grafton. Private burial was held. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Mercy New Life Hospice 3700 Kolbe Rd. Lorain, OH. 44053.
