Roger W. Swiger, 75, of Grafton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 29, 2022. He was born on November 21, 1947 to parents Jesse and Pearl (nee: Booth) Swiger in Clarksburg, WV. Roger graduated from Roosevelt-Wilson High School, served in the US Army, and later married his sweetheart, Beth Wagner, in November 1975. He was a gentle and kind man to those who knew him and had a heart of gold. He was also known for his hard work ethic and playing practical jokes. He was an owner operator truck driver for Zipper Express. Roger was a member of Elyria Masonic Lodge #787. Survivors include his wife, Beth, of 47 years; daughter, Shelley Keim of Elyria; son, Scott (Chasity) Swiger of Grafton; grandsons, Cory Gabbert of Grafton, Raven (Jessaline) Rippe of Georgia, Brandon Swiger of Grafton, Keith Keim of Elyria and Tyler Fadenholz of Elyria; granddaughters Jessica (Brian) Bonar of Maryland, Elizabeth Green of Fremont; 6 great-grandchildren; nieces, Peggy Lyons of Grafton, WV., Susan McCartney, great-niece Jessica (Eddie) Alkire of WV., and dogs, Scooter and Chippy. Roger is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard "Bud"; sister, Marie; son, Stephen; Niece, Tammy; nephew Johnny, in-laws, Mona and Gordon Wagner. No services.
