Roberta Jean Whitesel, 58, of Grafton passed away Thursday August 28, 2025 at the Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake following a brief illness.

She was born March 17, 1967, in Elyria and lived in Grafton for most of her life.

Roberta attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with her parents where she sang hymns with all her heart, and she was a graduate of Murray Ridge School.

Roberta made new friends wherever she went, and enjoyed spending time with her roommates at her group home and with her family. She also loved Disney and was able to take her dream trip to Walt Disney World last year.

Roberta is survived her brothers, Doug (Mary) Whitesel of Graton and John (Denise) Whitesel of New London; her sister, Lisa (Jack) Lowther of Amherst; several nieces and nephews, her roommates, and the staff at Surveyah Family Ties that cared for her and loved her like family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Basil and Faye Whitesel.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday September 3, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Parsons Road, Grafton.

Pastor Joe Dossa will Officiate.

Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
