Robert Richard Rahrig, 90, of LaGrange passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Woods on French Creek in Avon. He was born March 29, 1930 in Valley City, OH. and was a 1948 graduate of Keystone High School. Robert retired in 1987 from Bendix Commercial Vehicles.. He proudly served his Country in the United States Army during Korea and was a member of VFW and Amvets. Robert "Bob" enjoyed woodworkinh, gardening-landscaping, tinkering on lawn mowers and helping others. Survivors include his wife Roberta (nee McClelland); daughter, Judy Thomas of Elyria; son, Jeffrey (Pamela) of Elyria; grandchildren ,Michael (Carleen) Thomas and Morgan (Brandon) Heiss; great grandchildren, Kory, Teagan and Tatum; brother, Gilbert "Butch" of Avon Park, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Helen Rahrig (nee Haumesser); sisters, Rita Sobaslai and Coletta Malik; brothers, Norm and Ralph. Family will receive friends 5-7 PM Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57) Elyria, 440-322-4626, where funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, December 19, 2020. Per CDC guidelines social distancing will be observed. MASKS ARE REQUIRED.
