Robert Stephen Pittman, 77, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 29, 2023 at his home. He was born on August 11, 1946 to parents Robert and Vera (nee: Bevell) in Memphis, TN. They moved to Vermillion, Ohio where he attended and graduated high school. He served in the United States Air Force. He was employed at Ford and retired in 2004 after 35 years of working there. He enjoyed golfing, driving, traveling, and spending time with his loved ones. Robert (Steve) was a proud and very active Past Master of Ely Lodge #424, Past Patron of Madeleine Chapter #204 and member of P.B. Morgan Chapter #233, Royal Arch Masons of Ohio all located in Vermilion. Steve was also a Scottish Rite member of the Valley of Cleveland. Survivors include his nieces, Stephanie (David Mawson) Pittman, Alicia Ross-Pittman, and Katelyn Pittman; step-daughter, Jennifer (Brian) MacDonald and their three beautiful children; his loving life partner of 20 years, Jeanne Jenkins, who brought him a wonderful family to spend some of his happiest years with. He thought of her family as his own and was blessed with loving "daughters", Sheri Jenkins and Lisa (Tony) Shaw. "Grandchildren", Erica (Thomas) Passanisi, Brandi (Michael) Cummings, Matt (Jaqi) Cummings, Rheanna Evans, and Tucker Evans. "Great-grandchildren", Jackson, Lilli, and Roman. He is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Eunice Hill, his parents, Robert and Vera Pittman, and his younger brother, John Martin Pittman who passed earlier this year. Family will receive friends on Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1161 Milan Ave. Amherst, OH 44001 from 12 Noon to 5 PM. A Masonic Service will be held during that time at 1 PM followed by full military honors provided by AmVets Post #32 at 4 PM. A burial at Ridge Hill Memorial Park will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Roberts name can be sent to the funeral home in care of the family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.laubenthalmercado.com.
