Robert G. Freligh, 69, of Sheffield Village passed away Friday June 7, 2013 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain following a brief illness. He was born June 16, 1943 in Erie PA., and was a Elyria area resident since 1971, coming from New York. Bob was employed as a welder at Norfolk and Southern Railroad for 39 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Elyria United Polish Club and the Elyria Eagles Club, and enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Patricia (nee- Summers) ; daughters, Tawnee (Joe) Mancuso of LaGrange and Jennifer Simmons of Columbus; step-daughters, Danielle Haskiell and Rhonda Haskiell both of Elyria and Tara Smith of Sheffield Village; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sister, Mary Lou Noble of Brocton, NY.; 4 nieces all living in New York. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret Freligh and a grandson, Jason Valatka. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday June 13, 2013 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. 440-322-4626. Inurnment will follow at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. In Liue of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to any local Women's and Children's shelter.
