Robert N. Franklin, of Elyria (formerly of Cleveland), age 84, passed away Saturday August 10, 2024 at Kemper House in Strongsville. He was born in Columbia, S.C. on October 24, 1939 to Earl and Ann (nee-Suvar) Franklin, both deceased. He is a United States Air Force veteran. Robert was employed as a machinist at Danly in Cleveland for 30+ years. He was a former member and past president of the Suburban R/C Club. He loved anything that flies- planes, helicopters, drones…and kites. He also enjoyed building and working on computers. Survivors include his wife Barbara (nee-Hunt) Franklin; daughter, Shelia (Doug) Stockhaus of Parma; son, Daniel Franklin of Cleveland; sisters, Patricia (Dean) Wilkinson of Brunswick, Sylvia (Wayne) Prishmont of Strongsville and Kathleen D'Amico of Cleveland; grandchildren, Amanda (James)Miller , Sierra Stockhaus and Jared Stockhaus; great-grandchildren, Brennan, Brandon, Aurora and Draco and many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley (nee-Corrigan), son, Scott and babies Robert Jr. and Angela. His family will receive friends at in the gathering area of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church 708 Erie St., Grafton on Monday August 19, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary of the Church. The Rev. Fr. John P. Seabold, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Inurnment will be private.
