Robert H. "Bob" Nuhn, 87, of Elyria Township passed away Sunday July 5, 2015 at the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness. He was born April 12, 1928 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Bob the was the owner of the former Nuhn Insurance Agency in Elyria and a 67 year member of the Elyria First United Methodist Church, where he served on various committees throughout the years. He was also a 1946 Elyria High School graduate, a member of the Mr. and Mrs. Club and a 60 year member of the Lorain County Model Railroad Association. Bob enjoyed traveling to Amish country and watching the farmers work the land. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Jaclyn Ann "Jackie" (nee-Waite); daughters, Cheryl (Thomas) Ruth of Elyria and Gayle (Larry) Wiegand of Louisville, KY.; grandchildren, Juan, Tony, Andrew (wife, Amber), and Alexa; 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline Shanks. The family will receive friends Wednesday July 8, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. at the Elyria First United Methodist Church 312 Third St., Elyria. The Rev. Roger Talbott, pastor, will Officiate. Burial will be at Ridgehill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Following burial a luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria.
