Robert J. Barth 85, formerly of Berea went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday March 22, 2018 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake following a long illness. He was born June 22, 1932. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army, and retired as a Field Auditor for the State of Ohio. Bob read his bible daily; and loved singing, dancing, cars, motorcycles, and was a licensed private pilot. Survivors include his children; Robert J. Barth (Sharon) of Painesville Twp., Barbara J. Copeland (Jim) of Olmsted Twp., Michael A. (Torri), Patrick T. (Monica) both of Strongsville, Angela M. Mercado (Phil) of Elyria. Additional survivors include seventeen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty one years; Angela B. (nee: Golembiowski), a son; Richard P., a grandson; James Robert Copeland, his parents; Peter J. and Catherine (nee: Hart) Barth, three sisters, and four brothers. The family will receive friends from 1-4 PM Sunday March 25, 2018 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday March 26, 2018. Pastor Geoff Schultz will officiate.
