Rita E. Kaib, (nee-Baker), 99, of Elyria passed away Thursday June 17, 2021 at O'Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville following a brief illness. She was born October 11, 1921 in Lorain, and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Rita worked as a cashier at the former Robert Hall Clothing Store in Elyria. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria and in 2019 Rita was recognized as the longest registered member of the parish. She was a member of the church's Altar and Rosary Society for many of those years. She was a 1939 graduate of Elyria High School. As a member of the St. John Lutheran Church Senior's Group and the Elyria Wesleyan Village Seniors exercise class, she made many friends over the years. She also enjoyed the programs of the Elyria Public Library. Survivors include her daughters, Karen Leland (husband, David, deceased), Ann (Eric) Hauser, Noreen (Jody) Feldman and Lisa (Brian) Alto; sons, John Kaib (Sherold Barr) and Martin Kaib (Kris Coyle); grandchildren, Dawn Jenkins, Tracy Clementi, Sarah Feldman, Caroline Feldman and Nathan Kaib; step-grandchildren, Max Barr, Ocean Alto and Moorea Alto: great-grandchildren, Abigail, Grace, Vincent, Marisa and Avery. She was preceded in death by her husband Willard in 1994, sisters, Sr. Corrine Baker C.S.A., Marie Blair and Jane Kelling and a brother, John Baker. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday July 8, 2021 at St. Agnes Church 611 Lake Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Charles Ryba will be the Celebrant. Private burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Agnes Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
