Ricky Dean Henthorn 72, of Elyria passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday July 16, 2025 following a long illness.  He was born August 12, 1952 in New Martinsville, WV.  Ricky worked for Harshaw Chemical and continued on with BASF until his retirement in 2017. He loved spending time with family and friends, going to car shows, old cars, racing and model railroading. Survivors include his wife of thirty nine years; Kimberley L. (nee: Cogar), two daughters; Sarah E. Henthorn of Elyria, Brittany M. Ashak (Ashak) of Elyria, Additional survivors include a grandson; Jeremiah Donovan, his mother; Lois Kirkpatrick of LaGrange, a sister; Robin Duffield (Rich) of Litchfield, a brother; Ron Henthorn (Debbie) of Chatham.  Ricky was preceded in death by his father; George Henthorn, and a brother; William Henthorn (Rhonda). The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM on Monday July 21, 2025 at The River Church 6000 Lear Nagle Rd. North Ridgeville, OH 44039 where funeral services will be at 1:00 PM immediately following visitation. Pastor Justin Reed will officiate. The family suggests that memorial contributions in Ricky's memory be made to the River Church.  Burial will be private.
