It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard "Dick" Phelps of Grafton, Ohio on January 14th, 2020 at the age of 87 years. He was a graduate of Hancock New Hampshire High School, attended Parks Air College. He earned his pilot license at the age of 18. Graduate of ATC Academy & Law Enforcement and served as Ohio Safety Instructor for 10 years. Richard served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years then as an air traffic controller at Cleveland Hopkins airport. He enjoyed flying, hunting and boating. After retiring Dick and Dotty enjoyed their winters in Florida. He is survived by his wife Dorothy "Dotty" Phelps (nee Kurkorola); two daughters Cheryl (Mike) Tully and Wendy Phelps, and a son Mark (Betty) Phelps. Twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday January 19, 2020 from 4-7pm at Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
