Richard Jay McArthur 79, of Grafton passed away Sunday January 29, 2023 at Main Street Care Center in Avon following a long illness.  He was born July 3, 1942 in Cleveland.  Richard served in the United States Air Force, and had worked as an electronics technician.  He loved spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed all things railroad related.  Survivors include his wife of twenty six years; Sharon D. (nee: Parker), two daughters; Jill Williams (Nicholas) of Cape Coral, FL., Stephanie Leigh of Cleveland, two sons; Jeffrey McArthur of Avon Lake, and Aaron Kantz of Elyria, and eleven grandchildren.  Richard was preceded in death by his parents; Lloyd and Sylvia H. (nee: Staunch) McArthur, a daughter; Lizzy Kantz, and two sisters; Roberta "Bertie" Presley, Irene Dyer.  The family will receive friends from 1-4 PM Saturday February 4, 2023 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria where funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Saturday immediately following visitation.
